Warranty

Finished foils (rudders, centerboards, daggerboards) are warranteed against fabrication defects for the period of one year from shipping date. Liability is strictly limited to the value of the flawed item, with replacement or repair or refund at the discretion of Competition Composites Inc. (CCI). CCI is not responsible for design flaws or inadequacies. Any design help given by CCI is given freely and in good faith, and is not warranteed.

Unfinished foils are sold "as is" with no warranty. The customer assumes the responsibility of dealing with any issues that may arise while completing the foil.

Shipping

You will only be billed the actual cost of shipping. Shipments are sent fully insured unless otherwise requested.

No Canadian taxes are charged on international shipments.

All orders are F.O.B. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In short, you own it once it goes on the truck. Claims for loss or damage are between you and the carrier, although of course CCI will do everything they can to help.

Standard packaging is in a custom cardboard box with approximately 1" of foam around the perimeter, and the foil itself wrapped in lightweight foam. Experience has shown this to be the best compromise between cost of shipping and safety of the foil. Cost of shipping goes up quickly with package size. If you require a different solution, such as a hard crate, let this be known in advance of shipping.

To estimate your shipping costs, take the overall length / width / depth of your foil, and after allowing for packaging, enter the values into the rate calculator for the appropriate courier service (most products ship based on volume rather than actual weight). Use the postal code K2M 1X5 as originating address if asked.

Canada and United States

Unless otherwise instructed, parcels are sent by UPS (www.ups.ca). You have your choice of Ground or Expedited services. Ground costs less, but they charge an import brokerage fee to the US that is waived if the parcel is sent Expedited.

At special request, parcels can be sent by Canada Post, where they have different options based on speed of service. Import fees to the US are lower, if charged at all. Click here for the business rate calculator. There is a $10 extra charge for this service, as someone has to go to the post office and stand in line.

Parcels too large for UPS may go by freight forwarder.

Overseas

The most cost effective method of shipping overseas is by Canada Post surface parcel, but it can take several weeks. A surprisingly cost effective option is Greyhound Courier Express where 3 day service is available to most of Europe and beyond. Larger packages can go by freight forwarder - either air freight or surface - at reasonable cost.
