Catalina Catalina 34 Rudder

Our customer came to us after bending his rudder shaft twice (even with a shoal-depth rudder). On his request we came up with a design that shortened rudder span slightly while giving a corresponding increase in chord length, for the same total rudder area. This should prevent future grounding problems – at least his keel will hit first now.

Catalina Catalina 38 Rudder

The customer came to us looking for a better rudder for his offshore racing of his Catalina 38. We went slightly deeper while keeping similar wetted area, and were able to reuse the stainless post from his original.

We just finished the Oregon Offshore and took first in Class, the rudder was awesome! noticed right from the start (20 knots downwind) the increased bite and control that we had over previous races. I have to say it was very nice being able to handle a squirley IOR boat downwind in those conditions with confidence.
